Written By Pradeep Abheeshta The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge may have released just a while back, but that doesn't stop me from being curious about the future of the Note series. With improvements clearly evident on the S7 and the Edge, here are a few things I wish to see in the soon to be released Galaxy Note 6. Please do note that these are just my assumptions and are no where guaranteed to be the actual specifications. BETTER RESOLUTIONWhile the current 2K screen is gorgeous and, frankly, one of the best in the market, Samsung has always pushed its limits when it comes to its top of the line phablets. So, it may not come as a surprise if the Note 5 is installed with a 4K screen, a feature seen earlier on the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium. It may have its downfalls - the excessive battery use from a screen with an outrageously high pixel density (772 PPI to be exact, if it's a 5.7 inch screen) and to be honest, it wouldn't look much different when compared to its 2K counterpart. But it would be something amazing to brag about, wouldn't it? BIGGER BATTERYIf I want a better resolution on my phone, it ought to have a bigger battery. The S7 had a much larger battery (3000 mAh) and so did the Edge (3600 mAh). It is an obvious upgrade, considering that the Note 5 has a 3000 mAh battery. Maybe we might see a 4000 mAh battery or even more? FASTER PROCESSOR, LARGER RAM, MICRO SD SLOTThe Note 5 sported the Exynos 7420, an octa core processor (2.1GHz quad core + 1.5 GHz quad core). However, the S7 switched back to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 processor. Taking the processor's amazing benchmark scores into account, it would be wise to install the same processor in the Note 6. Or maybe take a different path and instead, opt for the Mediatek Helio X20 deca-core processor. A 6GB RAM is also possible. We will definitely see the return of a microSD card slot in the device, which can support upto 200GB of external storage. CAMERALast year's Note 5 housed a 16MP camera unit, the exactly similar to the S6/S6 Edge. And the year before, the Note 4 had the same camera as seen on the Galaxy S5. Therefore, the Note 6 will have the 12MP camera with the f/1.7 lens and larger 1.4µm pixels on the image sensor from the S7/S7 Edge. Photos taken on the S7/S7 Edge have been crisper and clearer when compared to its predecessor, even with the significant megapixel drop. NOTE 6 EDGE OR NOTE EDGE 2? The 2014 Note Edge was a deviation from the usual rectangular blocks released annually by most phone manufacturers. The designers and engineers brought something totally different to the table and showed that the Korean manufacturer was ready to take risks to try out something new. A few months later, the S6 Edge was unveiled and by that time, they had perfected the curve mantra. It was visually appealing and handy. Even with the second iteration of the Edge design this year, it still looks gorgeous and stands from all other devices. So, hopefully, there will be a Note Edge 2/ Note 6 Edge released alongside the Note 6 with an S-Pen. Since the S7 Edge has a larger 5.5 inch screen compared to the 5.1 inch screen on the S7, the Note Edge 2 should have a 6 inch screen, which will be appealing to buyers who prefer a larger phone and also want the stylus attached. If there's a bigger screen, it's a bigger phone. So, let's just throw in a bigger battery! SUMMARYHere's a quick overview of what all I expect to see with the release of the Note 6:
And if there's going to be a Note Edge 2:
